A young female University of Florida college student was stopped at an intersection near the university after a homecoming game when her compact car was struck in the rear by a Ford F-250 truck driven by UF alumni. The adverse driver claimed that a phantom vehicle that fled the scene caused him to crash into the student’s car. The crash caused a total loss to the student’s vehicle. The Defendant driver was cited for careless driving. The college student suffered injuries to her neck and back, which caused her setbacks in her studies. The case was resolved after litigation but before trial.
